Winter Olympics 2022: Day 17 schedule, what to watch, results and more from Beijing, China

After over two weeks of thrilling action, the 2022 Beijing Olympics have only day of competition left. Team USA — which currently trails fourth-place Germany (22) by one and third-place Canada (24) by three in the medal count — will vie for the podium in speed skating and figure skating on Saturday before calling these Games a wrap.

The Americans’ biggest win on Friday came from someone competing on the Chinese national team. Freestyle skier Eileen Gu — who was raised in San Francisco by her Chinese mother and grandmother — won gold in the women’s halfpipe event, bringing the 18-year-old’s medal total to three in Beijing. Earlier in these Games, Gu won gold in the big air and silver in the freeski slopestyle.

In other Friday news, the defending Olympic champion U.S. men’s curling team failed to reach the podium after losing to Canada in the bronze-medal match. Sweden and Great Britain will face off in the gold-medal game Saturday at 11 p.m.

Men’s and women’s speed skating mass start – 2 a.m.
Pairs figure skating free skate, final – 6 a.m.

Damian Lillard hasn’t requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers, yet the rumors about his potential exit haven’t stopped coming.

The Boston Celtics are a team that needs to make some moves this offseason, and some think Lillard could be a great pickup for them.

However, it seems like Lillard isn’t interested in joining them.

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Lillard has no interest in playing for the 2022 Eastern Conference champions.

The reasons behind this mindset are unclear but knowing that Lillard wouldn’t join the Miami Heat if they became NBA champions, it’s easy to see why he would also reject the Celtics.

Lillard wants to build something from scratch or join a team that will compete for something.

That’s what he’s trying to do in Portland and what he wants to do if he leaves the Trail Blazers.

This offseason will be crucial for the team, as they can go into rebuilding mode or try to put the right pieces around Lillard.

Lillard has made it clear that he’s trying to win something with his first and only team in the league, but if the situation isn’t right, he’ll try to look for alternatives.

Lillard had 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds in 58 games this season, confirming that he’s still playing at a high level.

The Blazers have a superstar on the roster, but if they can’t maximize Lillard’s talent, he’s better off looking for a new team.
