The Indiana Pacers and centre Myles Turner have agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $60 million, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski, citing Turner’s agent Austin Brown, said the extension also includes a $17.1 million renegotiation of the current season’s salary, which Wojnarowski says is the largest renegotiation in NBA history.

Turner, who was already making $18 million this year, is now due $35.1 million.

A perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Turner has long been in the rumour mill as Indiana (24-27) continues to muddle around the lower third of the standings.

The 6’11” 26-year-old was drafted 11th overall by the Pacers in 2015. He’s averaging 17.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game this season.
