Pawn Stars is a popular History Channel show that follows the sales and adventures of the staff members at World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Corey Harrison, also known as “Big Hoss,” is the son of the store’s owner, Rick Harrison.

Since the death of Harrison’s grandfather and part-owner, Richard Harrison, the show has vastly changed and lost some popularity.

Corey Harrison has seen a lot of changes in his life recently, from the death of his grandfather to divorcing his second wife.
Although he has been facing many personal struggles, Harrison has finally managed to become part-owner of the family business and works as the manager of his family’s pawn shop.
If there was ever an employee who deserved the title of owner, it was Corey Harrison.

Harrison had started working at his family’s pawn shop when he was only nine years old and worked consistently under his father, Rick Harrison.
In 2015, Harrison went through his first divorce from his high school sweetheart after being married in 2009.
He married Karina Harrison only two years later, but their marriage only ended up lasting a year.
Corey Harrison found that his work schedule wasn’t conducive to having a committed partnership because he had to work every day.
With World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop being open 24 hours a day, there wasn’t enough downtime for Harrison to have much of a home life.

Although the couple had filed for a joint petition of divorce, they knew that they would remain friends.
At the time of their divorce, they were expecting a baby boy and were planning to name him Richard Benjamin Harrison, named after Corey’s grandfather.
In 2019, the once-couple was spotted out together again and Karina Harrison posted a picture of a tattoo that she had gotten of Harrison’s name.
In the comments on the post, Harrison could be seen voicing his support and appreciation for her.
During the pandemic, Corey Harrison had spoken negatively of Las Vegas’s mask mandate.

However, his tone surrounding the protocol seems to have changed, with him admitting that he now keeps masks, gloves, bleach, and plastic sheets in his car.
Keeping Up With Rick Harrison

Just like his eldest son, Corey, Rick Harrison also seems to have struggled with his romantic relationships.
In response, Burditt wanted to ask for alimony, but the ex-couple was able to come to agreements on things such as alimony, support, and property division.
Although their marriage didn’t work out, Rick Harrison claims that he got “three great daughters out of it.”
While the girls may not be biologically related to Harrison, he has still been their legal father for seven years and sees them as his own.
Rick Harrison’s best-known business may be World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, but his second booming business is right next door.
Pawn Plaza is a bright building that holds a slew of gift shops and unique businesses.

The shopping plaza even has some restaurants that include Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ, Nfused Coffee, an empanada restaurant called Q’Rico.
However, there had been four restaurants before the current ones, but those have closed due to terms not being met.
When bringing in many of the restaurateurs, Harrison promised to promote their businesses heavily.
He kept getting tied into other business engagements and filming, leading him to put the business promotions on the back burner.
Although the businesses in Pawn Plaza have experienced mixed degrees of success, they are able to cash in on some of the tourists who come to see the famous pawn shop.
Ever since the launch of Pawn Stars, Austin “Chumlee” Russell, the longtime best friend of Corey Harrison, has been the comic relief for the show.
Chumlee has been by Harrison’s side through many difficult struggles, such as their mutual weight loss journeys.
While fans of the show are elated that he seems to be doing better physically, Russell has had a concerning run-in with the law that leaves fans concerned for his future and the type of person that he’s become.

In 2016, Chumlee’s house was raided by the Las Vegas police.
A multitude of guns, drugs, and drug paraphernalia was removed from his home in the raid.
The police officers found drugs such as methamphetamines and narcotics in large quantities, along with tools for the sales of drugs such as plastic baggies and digital scales.
Twelve different guns were removed from the property, which included revolvers, handguns, shotguns, and rifles.
Out of the dozen guns in Russell’s home, only four of them were registered in his name.

During the search, the police officers were introduced to the reality star’s “Chum Chum” room.
The “Chum Chum” room included a stripper pole, and police found a clear baggie containing white residue with a rolled-up $1 bill that was covered in the same white residue.
The original reason for the raid on Austin Russell’s house was in relation to a sexual assault case.
He was booked on multiple charges of drug possession and one weapons charge, but he was released the next day on a $62,000 bail.
After the news broke out about the raid, Chumlee decided to lie low and has since stayed out of legal trouble.

He can still be seen on Pawn Stars, even if his role on the show has been cut down for the foreseeable future.
How “Old Man” Harrison Passed Away
Richard “Old Man” Harrison was the head owner of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and the car enthusiast of Pawn Stars.
Harrison moved to Las Vegas during the 1980s and opened the famous pawn shop with his son, Rick Harrison.
“Old Man” Harrison was incredibly dedicated to his work at the pawn shop and hadn’t taken a single sick day since 1994, despite suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.

He would lose his fight against Parkinson’s Disease in 2018 when he was 77 years old.
Parkinson’s Disease is a brain disorder that leads to stiffness, extreme shaking, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination.
As the person with Parkinson’s Disease gets older, their nerve cells in the area of the brain that controls movement begin to become impaired and eventually die.
Those who worked alongside Richard Harrison saw him as the heart of the family’s business and a delight to work with.
While he may have been a quiet man off-camera, those who knew him claimed that he was even funnier than he was quiet.

At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his loved ones and was able to pass on peacefully.
When Harrison’s will was released to the public, they were shocked by the fact that he excluded his youngest son.
Instead of an inheritance, Christopher Harrison received a passing message from his father.
“I would like to express my love and affection for [Christopher Harrison]; however for the purposes of this Will, I have intentionally and with full knowledge failed to provide for him and his issue,” Harrison’s will read.
Fans who visit World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are able to see “Old Man” Harrison’s iconic hat on display and some of his other favorite personal belongings.

What Is The Pawn Shop Actually Like?
Fans of Pawn Stars are welcome to visit World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, even if they don’t have anything to sell or don’t plan on making any major purchases.
However, potential visitors may want to be wary of a few details before visiting.
The Pawn Stars shop is incredibly small, especially for the massive crowds that the store brings in daily.
You should expect a long line before you can even enter the store and know that the store is quite cramped for the thousands of visitors it attracts each day.
In order to maintain safety regulations, there is someone posted at the door who keeps track of occupancy.
They can only let a certain number of people into the store at a time, which means an even longer wait.
While the main cast of Pawn Stars may work all of the time, they are rarely working with the public.
They spend most of their time focusing on the operations side of the business.

Don’t go to World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in hopes of meeting Rick, Corey, or Chumlee.
The only time that the main cast is in the store is to film Pawn Stars.
When filming occurs, the store is cleared out to make the space appear larger and create better shots.
Occasionally, the stars will stay a little after shooting to take photos with tourists and hand out autographs.
The pawn shop does keep cardboard cut-outs of Rick Harrison and the “Old Man” in the back of the shop for photos as well.
This doesn’t mean that the staff working there isn’t willing to answer questions that fans have about different pieces of merchandise or even the show.
The International Spin-Offs Of Pawn Stars
The History Channel knew that it had a winner of a show idea on its hands after seeing how popular Pawn Stars was in the United States.
Pawn Stars UK started in 2013 and is focused on owners and staff of Regal Pawn.
Located on the outskirts of Chester, near the border between Wales and England, the Regal Pawn is owned by Mark Manning and his daughter Vicki Manning.
Other cast members include Mark Manning’s best friend, “Little” Mark Holland, Simon Penworth, and their newest recruit, Liam.
Pawn Stars Australia follows the Senes Brothers and their friend Shannon Folden as they run Australia’s premier chain of pawn shops called Happy Hockers, which has four different locations.

Happy Hockers has seen all sorts of rare items come through its doors, such as a tile from the roof of the Sydney Opera House, an entire amusement park game, and even a rare prosthetic leg.
Pawn Stars South Africa is filmed at the Cash Inn, which is a pawn shop located in Johannesburg.
Johannesburg is known as the City of Gold, and items that are brought in the shop live up to that golden standard.
The show follows owner Roy Peretz as he buys and sells rare historical and pop culture items.
His staff members Irene Bower, Eytan Nadler, and Liel Rimon also appear on the show.

Although Pawn Stars already takes place in the United States, the History Channel knew that Alexandria, Louisiana can seem like a world away.
Cajun Pawn Stars takes place at the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center and stars owner Jimmie DeRamus, his brother, and his daughter.
How Wealthy Is The Pawn Stars Cast?
With the massive amounts of money spent on individual items during the run of the television show, how much the cast is actually made has been called into question multiple times.

Before Pawn Stars, World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop was only seeing about seven customers per day.
Richard “Old Man” Harrison was worth $5 million before he passed away in 2018.
Before opening the pawn shop, “Old Man” Harrison had spent years in the military and used the money he made from his time enlisted to open up the family pawn shop in 1989.
Rick Harrison inherited his father’s love of business, with his best-known business ventures being the family’s pawn shop and Pawn Plaza.
In addition to his Pawn Stars ventures, he is also a franchise owner of Quiznos and has investments in multiple other small businesses.

As of 2021, he has a net worth of $9 million and has earned most of his revenue through his pawn shop’s brand.
In 2016, Rick Harrison was being paid $16,000 per episode.
Harrison also has a large financial portfolio, which includes stocks in blue-chip companies.
Corey Harrison has a net worth of $3 million, which he has mostly earned through his appearances on Pawn Stars.
In 2014, he was making $300,000 for the entire season and has been paid more since becoming a partial owner of the shop.

For a few extra thousand dollars, both Corey Harrison and Austin Russell would make public appearances around Las Vegas to meet fans and take photos with them.
For his appearances on Pawn Stars, Russell is making $25,000 per episode.
When he isn’t working at the pawn shop, he’s helping run a candy shop where customers can get chocolate bars with his face on them.

What Were The Most Expensive Things Purchased On Pawn Stars?
The most expensive purchase that was ever made on Pawn Stars was when Rick Harrison purchased original, hand-drawn sketches by Maurice Sendak, the author of Where the Wild Things Are.
Harrison purchased the exclusive art pieces for $250,000.
Where the Wild Things Are has a special place in Rick Harrison’s heart because he grew up reading the book regularly as a child.
These prints were especially rare because Maurice Sendak was known for never selling his sketches.
The second-largest purchase ever made on Pawn Stars was when the Harrisons collectively agreed to buy 3,000 ounces of pure silver for $111,000.

Although this deal was only slightly below market rate, the Harrisons were able to make a profit on the pure silver ingots.
The most expensive car that has even been purchased on Pawn Stars is the 1932 Lincoln Roadster for $95,000.
Because the car model was only made during the Great Depression, very few models were made, and even fewer survived.
Although the car only cost $4,000 originally, Rick and “Old Man” Harrison were more than willing to pay $95,000.
After the deal was done, the original owner of the car purchased $95,000 worth of gold from the Harrisons’ pawn shop.
Sharpe pointed to the incredible output of both Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic as the biggest reason why the Nuggets will walk away with the big win.
He said that the Heat don’t have answers for both of those players.
He also said that if both Murray and Jokic do what they’ve been doing, the Nuggets only need about 30 points from a few other players to cruise to a win.
Sharpe noted that Bam Adebayo of the Heat is doing all he can to slow or stop Jokic but he needs help with that task.
That stretches the Heat thin.
That, compared with some of the troubles that Jimmy Butler has been having, is making life very hard for Miami.

The Heat are looking to score a very important home victory with Friday’s game.
If they are able to do that, they will even the series before it heads back to Denver.
If they lose, many people will predict that the Finals are pretty much over.
Murray and Jokic will try to make some noise in Game 4 – and the Heat will try to silence them.
Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets has gotten the attention of just about every NBA fan lately.
His performances in the playoffs have been phenomenal and have helped his team reach its first Finals.

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is just one of the many people wowed by what Murray is doing.
“The growth of Jamal Murray in these playoffs has actually been… as much of a key to Denver’s dominance in the playoffs as Joker has been,” Green said on his podcast.

Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat is back in the NBA Finals and that is causing people to talk about his place in the history of the league.
Some people think he is one of the best of this generation, despite the fact that he hasn’t yet won a championship ring.

Others think that he is lacking in some important areas.
Stephen A. Smith created a small firestorm online with his latest comments about Butler.
“You think about superstars and what we usually get from those superstars in terms of offensive production, that’s not Jimmy,” Smith said on First Take.
.@stephenasmith doesn't think Jimmy Butler can be the best player on a championship team

Several people noted that Butler and his Heat are the only team in the league to reach the Finals twice during the era of Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
They may not have won yet but the Heat have been competing against some of the best of the best for years now.

Saying this when he is one of the only players to make it to the Finals TWICE in an era dominated by Curry and Lebron is certainly a choice…
And many others were calling out Smith because Butler has done what other players haven’t been able to.
No matter what his offensive production is, Butler is in the Finals again while players like Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant sit at home.
Yo @stephenasmith what makes a superstar? Since Jimmy Butler came up the heat they have been in the finals twice and ECF 3 times. I don’t see KD Embid or Jason Tatum there. Do you?
