Southern @ Tulane
Current Records: Southern 0-1; Tulane 1-0
What to Know
The Southern Jaguars haven’t won a matchup against the Tulane Green Wave since Nov. 19 of 2015, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Saturday. The Jaguars will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse at 12:30 p.m. ET. Tulane will be strutting in after a victory while Southern will be stumbling in from a defeat.
The game between Southern and the Louisville Cardinals on Tuesday was not particularly close, with Southern falling 72-60. One thing holding Southern back was the mediocre play of Terrell Williams Jr., who did not have his best game: he finished with only six points on 2-for-12 shooting in his 34 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, it was a close one, but on Tuesday the Green Wave sidestepped the Southeastern Louisiana Lions for a 70-67 win. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Lions made it more of a contest than the oddsmakers had predicted.
Southern’s loss took them down to 0-1 while Tulane’s victory pulled them up to 1-0. We’ll see if the Jaguars can steal Tulane’s luck or if Tulane records another win instead.
