Who’s Playing

St. Peter’s @ Providence

Current Records: St. Peter’s 1-2; Providence 5-1

What to Know

The Providence Friars will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the St. Peter’s Peacocks at noon ET. St. Peter’s will be strutting in after a win while the Friars will be stumbling in from a defeat.

It looks like Providence got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They took a 58-40 bruising from the Virginia Cavaliers on Tuesday. Center Nate Watson had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 27 minutes but putting up just eight points on 4-for-11 shooting.

As for St. Peter’s, they can’t say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. On Tuesday, they narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the LIU Sharks 64-62.

Providence is now 5-1 while St. Peter’s sits at 1-2. A couple stats to keep an eye on: The Friars are 16th worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 10.7 on average. The Peacocks have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 355th most turnovers per game in college basketball, having accrued 20 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
