Wazzu’s Michael Flowers and Noah Williams combined for 25 points in the last meeting between the two programs in early December, but it wasn’t enough to get the win, and USC pulled out a 63-61 victory. The Trojans’ only loss in their last six games came against Pac-12 leader No. 3 Arizona on February 5, but they bounced back to win their last three contests.

What you need to know about Washington State

The Cougars never held a lead in their last game, which ended in a 76-56 loss to No. 13 UCLA last Thursday. Guard Tyrell Roberts led his team with 14 points, but did so on an inefficient 5-for-14 shooting night in his 26 minutes on the floor. Wazzu had two other players reach double-digit scoring totals in the loss, as Williams and Andrej Jakimovski each finished with 11 points in the game.

Roberts is the second-leading scorer on the team, behind senior guard Michael Flowers, who averages 13.4 points per start. Flowers is coming off of his worst game of the season, after he scored just three points in the loss to the Bruins. Despite the Cougars’ poor results as of late, they have the Pac-12’s top scoring defense in conference play, and have allowed just 60.3 points in those games on average. Part of that is thanks to the rim-protecting ability of sophomore center Efe Abogidi, who averages 1.6 blocks per outing.

What you need to know about Southern California

USC picked up a 79-69 victory over another Evergreen State opponent in its last outing, when it defeated the the Washington Huskies at home on Thursday. Forward Chevez Goodwin looked sharp, and scored a season-high 24 points along with nine boards. Senior guard Drew Peterson had a solid game as well, and made 54.5 percent of his shots to finish with 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

USC has held their opposition to a field goal percentage of 37.7, which places it sixth in college basketball. Conversely, the Cougars have only been able to knock down 40.6 percent of their shots this season, which is the 23rd-lowest field goal percentage in the country. Wazzu shot just 36.8 percent in its previous game against USC, but managed to hit 40 percent of its three-pointers against a Trojans defense that has otherwise allowed opponents to make just 32 percent of attempts from downtown this year.

Marcus Smart Has A Message Ahead Of Game 7

Boston is one of the ultimate sports towns on Earth, and the Boston Celtics have had plenty to do with that.

For decades, they were the undisputed greatest franchise in the league, and not even ceding that much ground to the Los Angeles Lakers has been enough to change that status.

That’s why Celtics guard Marcus Smart knows what’s at stake when they take the floor for Game 7 tonight.

In a recent interview, the former Defensive Player of the Year acknowledged that making history would be huge for this group.

The Celtics could join the 2004 Boston Red Sox as the only two teams in major sports history to come back from a 0-3 series deficit.

NBA teams are 0-149 in that scenario and just three teams before them were able to even force Game 7, although all of them had to play it on the road.

The Celtics have taken a ‘one game at a time’ mindset ahead of tonight’s matchup, warning the Miami Heat not to let them win one game.

Joe Mazzulla has been more confident and sound in this three-game rampage, but the players’ body language, mindset, and energy, have been the biggest difference from the first three matchups.

Now, all eyes will be set on the TD Garden to see whether this team has what it takes to write its name in history books.

Anything can happen tonight, and that’s the beauty of sports.
