Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets: How to watch NBA online, TV channel, live stream info, game time

Through 1 Quarter

The experts predicted a victory for the Portland Trail Blazers, but it’s no sure thing at this point. After one quarter neither squad has the contest in the bag, but Portland leads 33-29 over the Denver Nuggets.

The Trail Blazers have been led by shooting guard CJ McCollum, who so far has 13 points. Denver has been relying on the performance of power forward Jeff Green, who has nine points along with two blocks and two rebounds.

What to Know

The Portland Trail Blazers haven’t won a contest against the Denver Nuggets since May 29th, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Tuesday. Portland will take on Denver at 10 p.m. ET at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter after having had a few days off. The Trail Blazers are out to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.

Rip City was able to grind out a solid victory over the Philadelphia 76ers this past Saturday, winning 118-111. Portland’s point guard Damian Lillard did his thing and had 39 points and seven assists along with three blocks.

Meanwhile, Denver was expected to have a tough go of it on Sunday, and that’s exactly how things played out. Their bruising 126-97 defeat to the Phoenix Suns might stick with them for a while. Denver was down 100-78 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing holding the Nuggets back was the mediocre play of shooting guard Will Barton, who did not have his best game: he finished with ten points on 4-for-15 shooting in his 28 minutes on the court.

The Trail Blazers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 5.5-point margin of victory. There could be an interesting gambling play in this one, as they have done quite well against the spread at home this season while Denver have struggled against the spread on the road.

Rip City found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 124-95 punch to the gut against Denver in the teams’ previous meeting earlier this month. Maybe Portland will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the game and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.

Lakers’ LeBron James upgraded from out to doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. Bulls

Published

on

LeBron James could be inching closer to a return to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup.

James, who hasn’t played since Feb. 26 due to an injury to his left foot, has been upgraded from out to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that the Lakers are optimistic James will return for the final few games of the regular season.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season.

Los Angeles (37-37) is eighth in the Western Conference and riding a three-game winning streak.

Ivan Ivan, Evan Vierling among CHL overage players being eyed by NHL teams

Published

Ivan Ivan, Evan Vierling, Logan Dowhaniuk and Aidan De La Gorgendiere are among the CHL overage players being eyed by NHL teams, according to Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek.

Ivan, a 20-year-old centre with the QMJHL’s Cape Breton Eagles, scored 33 goals and 90 points in 64 games this season. The native of Ostrava, Czechia, is being pursued by six teams, according to Marek.

Vierling, a centre from Aurora, Ont., is also particularly intriguing.

“[He] was once upon a time a draft pick of the New York Rangers [and] didn’t assign,” Marek said during Saturday’s 32 Thoughts segment on Hockey Night in Canada. “Tearing up the OHL [with] 95 points for the Barrie Colts. Went to Columbus [Blue Jackets] camp last season — they almost signed him. He’ll get picked up this year for sure.”

Dowhaniuk, a defenceman, was traded to the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors from the Edmonton Oil Kings in December. He potted four goals and 17 points in 39 games for the Saskatchewan club.

De La Gorgendiere, also a defenceman, enjoyed a strong season with the Saskatoon Blades, scoring 12 goals and 65 points in 65 games. His 155 career points with the Blades ties him with Wendel Clark for tenth in all-time points by a defenceman in team history.
