The MLB regular season will start in a week from now, and the betting season is already a hot topic among fans.

FOX Bet Live is asking its followers on Twitter who is the favorite to lead MLB in hits, and fans are already submitting their candidates in the replies.

The early favorite to be the hit king in MLB is Chicago White Sox‘s shortstop Tim Anderson, who has +750 odds.

After him, we have Bo Bichette, Trea Turner, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.

DJ LeMahieu is fifth, and Wander Franco, the Tampa Bay Rays’ phenom, is sixth.

Oddmakers Love Anderson’s Chances: Here Is Why

Oddmakers love Anderson’s chances for a lot of reasons.

First, he is a batting average over OBP guy, which means that his walk totals aren’t always high, but his contact skills and speed guarantee that his average will always be high, probably around .300 or higher.

In fact, Anderson led MLB in batting average in 2019, with a .335 mark.

He also eclipsed the .300 mark in 2020 (.322), and last year, with .309.

The second reason why Anderson is favored to lead the majors in hits even though he hasn’t done it so far in his career (he did pace the league in runs in 2020, with 45) is because of his spot in the White Sox’s lineup.

Anderson is expected to bat at or near the top of the lineup in a wonderful unit that includes several excellent run-producers, such as Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Jose Abreu, Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal, and many more.

Anderson is at the top for a reason: he is a very, very good hitter, and his contact ability is virtually unmatched in the league.

Last year, the NFC Championship Game was thought to be an all-out battle between two of the best teams in the league that both wanted to put on a show and advance to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, for the San Francisco 49ers, the team had to deal with numerous injuries at the quarterback position, namely Brock Purdy going down with an injury that required offseason surgery.

Ultimately, the loss of Purdy under center proved to be too much to handle for the 49ers, as San Francisco couldn’t contend with the Philadelphia Eagles, who went on to win and face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

On Sunday, the 49ers will get a chance at redemption, as they will go head-to-head against the Eagles in a rematch of the NFC Championship Game.

There’s been no shortage of trash-talk on both sides ahead of this highly anticipated NFC showdown at Lincoln Financial Field, and Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports believes the player with the most pressure on Sunday will be star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, via “Speak” on FS1.

With Samuel talking a lot of trash before this epic battle between potentially the two best teams in the league, it is no surprise that Acho would say the most pressure will be on the talented wideout.

It will be interesting game, to say the least, on Sunday with bragging rights on the line and quite possibly the distinction as the best team in the NFL ahead of the NFL playoffs.
