The new NFL regular season is about three months away, and it is sure to be an exciting one, as there will be plenty of new faces in new places.

Until then, there will be several weeks of preseason football in August to get fans geared up before the contests that count commence in early September.

The league has just announced the preseason games that will be televised in primetime, and there will be some interesting ones.

The first one will be the annual Hall of Fame game that tends to kick off the preseason, and it will feature the New York Jets taking on the Cleveland Browns in Canton, Ohio, the site of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Aaron Rodgers, who will be enshrined there not too long from now, will have the opportunity to take the field for the first time as a Jet, while the Browns have what looks to be a very competitive squad.

On August 21, the Baltimore Ravens and their $260 million man, Lamar Jackson, will visit the Washington Commanders, a team that could officially have new ownership by then.

Week 3 of the preseason will then have three contests that will be aired in primetime.

That slate will start with the Indianapolis Colts taking on the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The second game, which has the Detroit Lions playing the Carolina Panthers, will allow a national audience to get a look at quarterback Bryce Young, the No. 1 pick in April’s draft.

Two days later, the Houston Texans will play the New Orleans Saints in a game that will feature C.J. Stroud, the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft.
