The Cornell Big Red are 0-5 against the Syracuse Orange since December of 2015, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Cornell is staying on the road to face off against ‘Cuse at 7 p.m. ET Dec. 29 at Carrier Dome. The Orange will be strutting in after a win while the Big Red will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Cornell was pulverized by the Virginia Tech Hokies 93-60 three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, ‘Cuse took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 93-62 victory over the Brown Bears. ‘Cuse’s guard Buddy Boeheim did his thing and had 28 points in addition to five rebounds.
Cornell is now 8-2 while ‘Cuse sits at 6-5. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Cornell comes into the game boasting the second most points per game in college basketball at 88.1. Less enviably, ‘Cuse is stumbling into the contest with the 23rd most points allowed per game in college basketball, having given up 76.5 on average.
