Aaron Donald has accomplished just about everything a player can achieve in the NFL. Arguably the best defensive player of his era, Donald finally captured a Super Bowl title with a dominant performance in Super Bowl LVI.

Donald finished with two sacks, three quarterback hits, and two tackles for loss as the Los Angeles Rams defensive line tied a Super Bowl record with seven sacks. Donald even had the hit on Joe Burrow that led to the Cincinnati bengals quarterback forcing the ball out of his hand on the fourth-and-1 play with 42 seconds left that sealed the title for Los Angeles. 

After the victory, Donald didn’t address the reports he would retire if the Rams won the Super Bowl — even if there isn’t much more he can achieve in his Hall of Fame career. 

“I’m just living in the moment right now,” Donald said to Chris Berman on ESPN’s NFL Primetime. “Coach (McVay) promised me this (a Super Bowl).”

Donald has eight First Team All-Pro selections, three Defensive Player of the Year awards (tied for the most in NFL history), and a Super Bowl title on his resume. His 150 tackles for loss and 98 sacks are the most since he’s entered the league in 2014 and he’s the only player with over 200 quarterback hits over the last eight seasons (226). The 98 sacks and 226 quarterback hits through his first 127 career games are the most for a defensive tackle in NFL history 

Donald’s legacy is secure as one of the greatest defensive players ever. There may not be a better way to end a career than the way Donald could end one.
