The Denver Nuggets got off to a hot start in the NBA Finals after having nine days off following the sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Despite a longer than usual rest period between playoff series, the Nuggets didn’t miss a beat as they made easy work of the visiting Miami Heat in Game 1 and will look to do the same in Game 2 on Sunday night in the Mile High City.

Heading into Game 2 at Ball Arena in Denver, the odds favor the Nuggets to come out on top and take a commanding 2-0 lead over the Heat, with star point guard Jamal Murray potentially in for a big game.

Murray seems to excel in the second game of seven-game series in the NBA playoffs, as he’s proven to be tough to stop offensively, according to StatMuse.

All the pressure will be on Jimmy Butler and company in Game 2, with the Nuggets looking like the better all-around team in the Finals thus far after an impressive showing in Game 1.

Although this series is already tilting the Nuggets’ direction, it is very early, and things can easily and quickly change if the Heat can get a win on Sunday to even the series before it shifts to Miami for Game 3 and Game 4.

Murray’s performance in Game 2, and for the rest of the series, for that matter, will be paramount to the team’s success moving forward and whether the Nuggets can live up to expectations and win their first title in the team’s history.
