Could a rift between Bruce Arians and Tom Brady have caused the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach to resign?

After three seasons at the helm, Arians gave way to Todd Bowles‘ promotion by accepting a front-office role.

In his statement, Arians said that Brady’s return is the right time to hand over the roster to Bowles, knowing that they will be competitive with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

But did Arians resign to stay away from Brady because of irreconcilable differences?

Before, there were rumors that Arians mangled with the game plan that Brady and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich built.

Is it possible that Arians’ ouster is one of Brady’s conditions for returning?

While it’s tough to prove those arguments, FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless may be alluding to something with his latest tweet, saying, “Bruce Arians kicked upstairs. Tom Brady wins AGAIN.”

The tension between Brady and Arians might have led the 44-year-old quarterback to retire.

However, the Buccaneers had no succession plan at quarterback, leading them to get Brady back.

Brady might have agreed, but not until guaranteeing that Arians won’t be the head coach anymore.

While no one would validate this theory, what else could lead Arians to be one of general manager Jason Licht’s deputies?

The Star Gets What He Wants

It’s not the first time that Brady got his way.

He left the New England Patriots for the Buccaneers when his relationship with Bill Belichick soured.

Part of the conflict stemmed from Belichick treating his quarterback as if he was still a young player.

Instead of dealing with a toxic situation, Brady left and won another Super Bowl.

In Tampa Bay, Arians’ departure might mean that Brady will only play under his terms.

It’s serious leverage, given what he brings to the table.
