What you need to know about Rhode Island

The Rams didn’t have too much trouble with the Bryant Bulldogs at home last Friday as they won 83-64. Rhode Island got double-digit scoring from four players: Makhel Mitchell (17), Ishmael Leggett (13), Makhi Mitchell (13), and Jeremy Sheppard (10).

The Mitchell twins are Maryland transfers and Makhi is averaging 12.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game this season, while Makhel is averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Both are hard to handle inside and they’ll be taxing on Boston College bigs Quinten Post and James Karnik.

What you need to know about Boston College

Meanwhile, the Eagles beat the Fairfield Stags 72-64 on Sunday. Boston College can attribute much of its success to guard Makai Ashton-Langford, who had 17 points, and guard Jaeden Zackery, who recorded 13 points and six assists.

Ashton-Langford is a Providence transfer who is averaging 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season and his younger brother DeMarr Langford Jr. is leading the team in scoring with 17.3 points per contest. However, Boston College has lost each of its last 10 games on the road.

Dwyane Wade Recalls How LeBron James Became Heat’s Top Guy

LeBron James spent the first seven years of his NBA career playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But James wasn’t able to win a ring during that time.

To change his ringless status, James joined the Miami Heat in the summer of 2010 and formed a Big 3 with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

While the “Heatles” advanced to the NBA Finals in 2011, they were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in six games.

Following the 2011 NBA Finals meltdown, Wade revealed via the “Club Shay Shay” podcast on Twitter that he handed the keys to the franchise to LeBron James ahead of the 2011-12 NBA season.

“For us to win rings, you (LeBron) have to be who you are,” Wade said.

Wade explained how the Heat wanted to win rings, and the only way for that to happen was to make James the primary superstar on the roster.

D-Wade believed James was only second to Kobe Bryant as the best player in the NBA at the time.

Following Wade’s decision to hand the keys to James, the Heat dominated the NBA with ease.

They won back-to-back NBA titles in 2012 and 2013.

James was named the NBA Finals MVP both times as well.

In hindsight, Wade’s decision did wonders for both James and the Heat.

James ended his stint with the Heat in 2014 after making four straight NBA Finals appearances and winning two rings.

The King then decided to leave the Heat to continue his career with the Cavaliers, winning one ring in 2016.

As of now, James is currently a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and has already won a ring.

Francisco Lindor Inches Closer To An Elite 2023 Mark

The New York Mets cannot wait for this disaster of a season to be over.

They entered the year expecting to be a playoff team at worst.

Instead, the Mets will not even win 80 games.

From 101 wins last year to less than 80 is a major drop-off.

But there have been a few players that have continued to produce despite the poor record.

One of those players is shortstop Francisco Lindor.

He is finishing up one of the best seasons of his career and might reach a career milestone.

According to Anthony DiComo, Lindor is only two home runs away from his first career 30-30 season.

With still five games to go, Lindor has a great shot at reaching 30-30.

Many people criticized Lindor for his struggles during his first year in New York.

But, the last two seasons have been very strong for him.

He is proving to be worth the massive contract that the Mets gave him.

Each season, Lindor has improved in home runs and continues to look more comfortable.

30-30 seasons are not something that come around very often.

But, the increase in stolen bases this year makes it more attainable.

So far this year only Ronald Acuna Jr. and Julio Rodriguez have reached that milestone.

Adding Lindor’s name to that star-studded group would be impressive.

It will be interesting to see what moves the Mets make this offseason.

Having a poor season like this is unacceptable in New York.

At least they can feel comfortable knowing they have their shortstop of the future in Lindor.

The Phillies Had A Familiar Celebration Tuesday Night

The Philadelphia Phillies want to establish themselves as perennial playoff contenders.

Last season, they made the playoffs as the final Wild Card team and went all the way to the World Series.

This season, they are returning to a familiar spot.

On Tuesday night, the Phillies clinched a playoff berth with their walk-off win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This is the first time the Phillies have made back-to-back postseasons since 2010 and 2011.

In 2022, most fans saw the Phillies celebrate each round with the song “Dancing on My Own.”

According to John Clark, the Phillies appear to be bringing back the same song for this postseason run.

The Phillies are in a much better spot this year than last.

With a Cubs loss, they clinched the first Wild Card spot last night as well.

That will give them home-field advantage for the first round.

Playing in front of the fans at Citizens Bank Park was one of the main reasons for the Phillies’ postseason success last year.

They dominated at home and rode that wave to the Fall Classic.

It will be interesting to see if the Phillies have another run in them this year.

Every team knows what the Phillies are capable of and they will not be taken lightly.

Their postseason success will come down to how well they can pitch.

Both the starters and bullpen need to be on top of their game as they get set to face some of the best lineups in baseball.

Many people are hoping to see a rematch of last year’s NLDS with the Phillies and Atlanta Braves.

If the Phillies can advance out of the Wild Card round, that is who they will most likely face.
