Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ family drama is still making headlines even though the NFL is in the offseason.

Former player Rich Ohrnberger reported that Mahomes suddenly experienced a revelation that his fiancee Brittany Matthews and his brother Jackson Mahomes were “distractions”.

Mahomes reportedly took action by sitting both down and telling them they cannot attend his games during the 2022 season.

Ohrnberger did not reveal his sources.

The timing and tone of the story never seemed right.

Mahomes dealt with the shenanigans of both of his fiancee and brother all season long.

Why would he experience this revelation now that the season is over?

Mahomes Refuted It

Mahomes had to know that the story did not hold much weight.

The way he refuted it was with a short and sweet tweet that said:

“Man people are weird…love you babe @brittanylynne8”

He then inserted a heart emoji.

They Are Distractions

Ohrnberger did not have his facts right about Mahomes’ handling of the situation, but he was correct about one thing.

Mahomes family members are distractions.

Brittany Matthews got into trouble with Chiefs fans for spraying champagne on them when the Chiefs won their playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson Mahomes performed TikTok dances along the sidelines and most notably on Sean Taylor‘s memorial logo on the same day the Washington Commanders retired his jersey in a ceremony with his family members present.

Both Matthews and Jackson Mahomes apologized for these specific incidents, but it was a recurring theme all season that the pair were doing things to be in the limelight when they were supposed to be adopting the roles of supporting family members away from the media spotlight.

Mahomes does need to have a conversation with his loved ones and remind him that they should not be drawing attention to themselves during games.

Marcus Smart Has A Message Ahead Of Game 7

Boston is one of the ultimate sports towns on Earth, and the Boston Celtics have had plenty to do with that.

For decades, they were the undisputed greatest franchise in the league, and not even ceding that much ground to the Los Angeles Lakers has been enough to change that status.

That’s why Celtics guard Marcus Smart knows what’s at stake when they take the floor for Game 7 tonight.

In a recent interview, the former Defensive Player of the Year acknowledged that making history would be huge for this group.

The Celtics could join the 2004 Boston Red Sox as the only two teams in major sports history to come back from a 0-3 series deficit.

NBA teams are 0-149 in that scenario and just three teams before them were able to even force Game 7, although all of them had to play it on the road.

The Celtics have taken a ‘one game at a time’ mindset ahead of tonight’s matchup, warning the Miami Heat not to let them win one game.

Joe Mazzulla has been more confident and sound in this three-game rampage, but the players’ body language, mindset, and energy, have been the biggest difference from the first three matchups.

Now, all eyes will be set on the TD Garden to see whether this team has what it takes to write its name in history books.

Anything can happen tonight, and that’s the beauty of sports.
