Tom Brady Reveals When He Will Start His Broadcasting Career

Now that legendary Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has retired again, and seemingly for good this time, football fans are wondering what will be next for him.

He is set to join Fox Sports’ broadcast team for coverage of its NFL games, however, he told Colin Cowherd that he will wait until the fall of 2024 to begin in that capacity.

Brady says he will wait because he wants to be prepared and be the best broadcaster he can be, as well as to catch up on other areas of his personal life.

He, of course, called it quits a year ago, only to come out of retirement weeks later for one more season in Tampa Bay.

But it was a frustrating one, as the team finished just 8-9, and he didn’t look like his old self for much of the year.

Brady was seen displaying frustration and even anger on the sidelines several times in 2022, something that seemed very out of character for him.

Some have attributed his struggles to his personal life, which seemed to be in bad shape, mainly because of the end of his long-time marriage to model Gisele Bundchen.

But now, Brady has hung up his cleats before the end of his career marred his unprecedented legacy, something which too many great athletes have unfortunately done.

He retires with seven Super Bowl championships, three regular season MVPs, five Super Bowl MVPs, and the consensus acknowledgment as the greatest player in NFL history.

Now, he can impart his knowledge and wisdom to millions of viewers across the nation.

Vikings hire former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores as defensive coordinator

Published

on

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings hired Brian Flores as their defensive coordinator on Monday, their first step toward trying to revive a once-dominant unit that ranked among the NFL’s worst last season.

Flores was a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach this season for Pittsburgh, after three years as head coach in Miami. Prior to being hired by the Dolphins, Flores was an assistant for eight seasons for New England’s defense. The Patriots won four Super Bowls during his time there.

After he was fired by the Dolphins, Flores, who is Black, filed a class-action lawsuit alleging racial discrimination by the team and the NFL.

Flores replaces Ed Donatell, who was fired last month by coach Kevin O’Connell after one year together. The Vikings were second-worst in the league in yards allowed and fourth-worst in points allowed during the regular season. The NFC North champions were ousted from the playoffs in the wild-card round by the New York Giants as quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 301 yards and rushed for 78.

The Vikings also interviewed Seattle associate head coach Sean Desai, Pittsburgh senior defensive New Orleans co-defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen and their own assistant head coach Mike Pettine, who was Green Bay’s defensive coordinator from 2018-20 and also the head coach for Cleveland from 2014-15.

Nielsen was hired as Atlanta’s defensive coordinator. Desai withdrew from consideration. The Vikings also had interest in former Denver defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, but he made a lateral move to take the job with Carolina and never wound up interviewing with Minnesota.

The Vikings under Donatell favored a four-man rush with two high safeties backing their zone pass coverage, but over their last eight regular-season games they forced only seven turnovers and totaled 12 sacks. Jones picked them apart underneath in the playoff game, going 24 for 35.

Four cornerbacks will be free agents next month: primary starters Patrick Peterson, Duke Shelley and Chandon Sullivan and backup Kris Boyd. The Vikings also have four core defensive players carrying eight-figure salary-cap hits: safety Harrison Smith, outside linebackers Za’Darius Smith and Danielle Hunter and inside linebacker Eric Kendricks. Only Hunter has not reached his 30s.

The Baltimore Orioles are full of young and talented players that are prepared to help the team re-emerge as a postseason contender for the first time since 2016.

Led by Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles won 83 games in 2022 and came close to reaching the postseason, finishing just three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the final Wild Card spot.

But Henderson and Rutschman aren’t the only young stars for the team to be excited about.

In fact, there’s a certain pitcher waiting in the wings that the Orioles are quite high on.

The pitcher’s name?

Grayson Rodriguez.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted a graphic featuring his prospect profile.

It’s easy to see what the Orioles like about Rodriguez.

He was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2018 draft and is the No. 7 ranked prospect on MLB.com.

Scouts have noted Rodriguez’s outstanding four-pitch mix as something to keep an eye on.

His fastball can touch triple digits and he can fill the strike zone with all offerings.

The Orioles have a lot to look forward to when it comes to their prospects, especially Rodriguez.

The team made some key moves to bolster their pitching staff and bridge the gap for Rodriguez, but it shouldn’t take too much longer for him to reach the Major Leagues.

He made the jump from Single-A all the way up to Triple-A in 2022.

In 17 starts, the 23-year-old went 6-2 and posted an ERA of 2.62.

At Triple-A, he started 14 games and had an ERA of 2.20, winning six of those starts.
