The Phoenix Suns shocked the NBA after they reportedly told Chris Paul he would be waived.

Paul arrived in Phoenix in 2020, set to help Devin Booker compete for championships.

They did it in their very first year together, losing in the NBA Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Now, the Suns reportedly have plenty of options for Paul but the point guard is clear on what he wants for his career.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Paul wants to run it back with the Suns and keep sharing touches with Booker and Kevin Durant.

However, the Suns have different options for him, including stretching his contract and waiving the player, a trade involving him and Deandre Ayton, or simply re-signing him in free agency.

In recent days, Kyrie Irving and Fred VanVleet have been linked with the Suns, and the Paul news couldn’t surface at a better moment.

Free agency is weeks away from its beginning but many teams are already making moves to get the pieces they want ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Paul is one of the best and most talented point guards of all time, but with his age, it’s easy to say why the Suns could move on from him.

He averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in 59 games this season.

When the postseason arrived and he was hurt, the Suns played faster without him, which could be another reason why the team is looking to cut ties.

Paul can still provide good things for his team, but only the Suns have the final word on this.

Jimmy Butler Gives Hilarious Explanation For His New Hairstyle

The NBA’s round of media days always leaves some nice quotes, pictures, and impressions.

However, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has found a way to steal all the headlines for the second straight season during this time of the year.

Last season, the two-way forward arrived in dreadlocks, cutting them off right after the pictures and forcing the league to use that hilarious pic of him throughout the course of the season.

Now, the Marquette product doubled down on that prank by showing up with his a new look and hairdo.

He arrived with straightened hair and multiple piercings.

When asked about it, he simply said he was “emo” (via NBACentral).

Butler later claimed that he was feeling very emotional as of late, and that he might even carry that look onto the court, because you never know how he’s going to feel later.

Butler is simply hilarious, and you can tell that the only thing he actually takes seriously is the NBA playoffs.

The former Chicago Bulls star might be a little sad because his team failed to get Damian Lillard, thus the emo phase.

Butler actively recruited Lillard at the beginning of the offseason, and the Heat reportedly made several offers for his services.

Still, it seemed like the Portland Trail Blazers were never interested in trading with them, and they got a much better offer with that three-team trade with the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.

We get it, Jimmy; we would feel quite sad too.

Sunday’s game between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians helped baseball fans say goodbye to two legends: Guards manager Terry Francona and Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera.

The game was a roller-coaster of emotions at Comerica Park.

Cabrera started the game as the designated hitter, but manager A.J. Hinch had him field first base in the eighth inning.

After he made an unassisted out, he was removed from the game having made his last defensive play.

That marked the start of a huge standing ovation for one of the most prominent Tigers in recent history.

“This is how you send off a legend! @MiguelCabrera walks off the field for the final time to a rousing ovation in Detroit!” MLB tweeted.

An emotional Cabrera hugged just about every one of his teammates on his way out.

The future Tigers special assistant to the president of baseball operations had an amazing career, even if his walk year wasn’t that good (.675 OPS).

He had a bad back and had declined as a hitter for a few years now, yet he managed to retire with an average over .300 (.306) and an OPS over .900 (.901).

He also said goodbye with 627 career doubles and 511 home runs.

Those achievements are only proof of how dominant he was in his prime, a long period that ranged from 2004 to 2016.

The man won two MVP awards, four batting titles, seven Silver Slugger awards, multiple All-Star berths, and the 2012 Triple Crown, the last one achieved by a hitter.

He was sent off appropriately by fans and his fellow players.

Sunday was a day he probably won’t forget.
