NBA DFS: James Harden and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Dec. 27, 2021

Published

on

Utah’s three-game winning streak is tied for the longest in the NBA, but to push it to four, the Jazz will have to do so without leading scorer Donovan Mitchell (back). He is out for at least the next two games but his absence gives other Jazz players opportunities to step up. One player who has shown the ability to do so is reigning Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson, who scored a season-high of 30 points in the only other game Mitchell missed this year. Clarkson will be in line for more playing time tonight vs. the Spurs at 8:30 p.m. ET, and he could be an undervalued option for NBA DFS lineups.

Is forming an NBA DFS stack with Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic the way to go for Monday after Bogdanovic dropped 25 points on Christmas Day? Or, are there any other NBA DFS sleeper picks on the Jazz that you should consider as they take the floor in San Antonio? Before setting your daily Fantasy basketball strategy for Monday, be sure to check out the check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Sunday, McClure included Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Diallo went off for a season-high of 28 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals, returning 39.75 points on DraftKings and 39.6 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Monday, December 27 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Monday, December 27

One of McClure’s top Monday NBA DFS picks is Nets guard James Harden at $11,200 on DraftKings and $11,000 on FanDuel. The nine-time All-Star put on a show on Christmas Day as he posted a triple-double with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. It was the fifth triple-double of the season for Harden but his first 30-point triple-double.

Harden took advantage of the Nets being shorthanded with several players out due to health and safety protocols, and that will also be the case on Monday. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are among seven Nets unavailable so Harden should operate as both the primary scorer and playmaker for Brooklyn. He will also benefit from not being harassed on the offensive end by Paul George, who ranks second in the NBA with 2.0 steals per game but is out with an elbow injury.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Hornets guard LaMelo Ball ($9,500 on DraftKings and $9,400 on FanDuel). After missing two weeks due to health and safety protocols, Ball has averaged 18.3 points, 6.8 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game in the four contests since his return.

Ball gets a great matchup on Monday vs. a Rockets team he torched when he last saw them in November. Ball had 19 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds for his third career triple-double and the Rockets haven’t gotten any better on defense. Houston is allowing the most NBA DFS points to opposing point guards on FanDuel and the second-most on DraftKings. Expect Ball to exploit a vulnerable Rockets defense that has its starting backcourt in Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green both questionable to suit up.

How to set NBA DFS lineups for Monday, December 27

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Monday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.

Luke Schenn of the Vancouver Canucks, after a six-hit night, has been crowned the hit king amongst NHL defencemen, passing Brooks Orpik for most hits since the stat has been recorded.

Some 2,947 hits later, the journeyman hasn’t stopped doing what he does best and is now able to say he stands at the peak of his craft. He hit the mark in 888 games.

A couple of days ago Schenn told Sportsnet that he “didn’t really think too much of it,” and that he “doesn’t really care too much about the number,” however as he broke the record, the fans in attendance made sure to let him know how much they cared.

Chants of “LUKE! LUKE!” broke out at Rogers Arena in Vancouver for the new leader in the category.

The 33-year-old has played for seven teams throughout his career and won two Stanley Cups during his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning. On every team he’s been on, he’s done what he does best. Hit.

Five forwards still remain above him on the hits leaderboard: Milan Lucic, Alex Ovechkin, Matt Martin, Dustin Brown, and the recently coronated Cal Clutterbuck sits atop the rankings with 3,647.

It was a celebratory day for the Schenn family, as brother Brayden played in his 800th NHL game across the country as his St. Louis Blues took on the Pittsburgh Penguins. But Brayden still has a ways to go if he wants to catch up to Luke’s physical domination, as the centre only has 1,700 hits to his name.
