Monday Night Football odds, spread: Giants vs. Buccaneers picks, NFL predictions from expert on 28-15 roll

Published

on

Tom Brady and Daniel Jones will lead their respective teams into a primetime showdown on Monday Night Football to close out Week 11. Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are leading the NFC South standings with a 6-3 record and 4-0 mark in their home stadium. Tampa Bay lost its last two games, however, and the Giants enter with improved recent play. New York is 2-1 in the last three games, and the Giants have the rest advantage after a bye in Week 10.

Kickoff is at 8:15 p.m. ET in Tampa Bay. Caesars Sportsbook lists the Buccaneers as 11-point favorites, while the Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 50 in the latest Giants vs. Buccaneers odds. Before you make any Buccaneers vs. Giants picks and NFL predictions, make sure you see what SportsLine NFL expert R.J. White has to say.

White, a CBS Sports fantasy and gambling editor, ended the 2020 season on an 80-59 run on all NFL picks, returning more than $1,400 during that span. It’s no surprise, as White has cashed huge twice in the world’s most prestigious football handicapping competition, the Las Vegas SuperContest.

In addition, White has gone an astounding 28-15 on his last 43 picks involving the Giants, returning more than $1,100. Anyone who has followed him is way up.

Now, White has set his sights on Giants vs. Buccaneers. You can head to SportsLine to see his picks. Now, here are several NFL betting lines and trends for Giants vs. Buccaneers:

  • Giants vs. Buccaneers spread: Buccaneers -11
  • Giants vs. Buccaneers over-under: 50 points
  • Giants vs. Buccaneers money line: Buccaneers -550, Giants +400
  • NYG: Giants are 5-4 against the spread this season
  • TB: Buccaneers are 3-6 against the spread in 2021

Why the Giants can cover

Daniel Jones is a true dual-threat at quarterback, generating more than 2,000 passing yards and 250 rushing yards this season, and he is leading the team with 5.2 yards per carry on the ground. On the outside, New York is getting healthier, with Kenny Golladay posing a threat and talented rookie Kadarius Toney generating 352 receiving yards in seven games. Tampa Bay is just No. 22 in the NFL in pass defense this season, and only a handful of teams have allowed more passing touchdowns (17) than the Buccaneers.

With that offensive recipe as potentially successful, the Giants can also lean on a defense that has been excellent lately. New York has allowed only 39 points combined in the last three games, and the Giants are opportunistic in forcing a turnover on 14.7 percent of defensive possessions across the entire 2021 season.

Why the Buccaneers can cover

Tampa Bay is a strong defensive team, ranking in the top 10 in total defense, but the Buccaneers make their biggest gains on offense. Led by Tom Brady, the Buccaneers are No. 3 in scoring offense (31.0 points per game) and total offense (406.4 yards per game). Tampa Bay leads the league in passing offense, averaging more than 315 yards per game, and the Bucs are also No. 1 with 27 touchdown passes.

The Buccaneers are scoring on 43.6 percent of offensive possessions, and no team has allowed fewer sacks than Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are No. 3 in the league in third down efficiency at 48.2 percent, and Tampa Bay is a top-10 team in red zone efficiency at 65.0 percent. Given New York is No. 25 in total defense, there is every reason to project some level of success for Tampa Bay’s offensive attack in this game.

Analyst Makes Strong Statement On Josh Allen’s Week 4 Performance

The Buffalo Bills got off to a questionable start to the season, but have made a statement in back-to-back games now, especially Josh Allen.

Allen drew harsh criticism for turning the ball over, pressing, and trying to do too much.

But he’s been spectacular in the past couple of weeks, and especially in Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins.

That’s why former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky still has faith in him, and even stated that he’s as good as Patrick Mahomes when he’s at his best.

Orlovsky believes Allen “put on his Superman cape” in that big win over the Dolphins (via Get Up).

Truth be told, that might have been the best performance in Allen’s career.

The perennial MVP candidate dominated and completed 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards and four scores, boasting a passer rating of 158.3.

He also added four carries for 17 yards and another touchdown.

This was a big way to make a statement, as he took down one of the few undefeated teams in the league, and one that was fresh off putting up 70 points.

With this victory, the Bills have leapfrogged the Dolphins and currently sit in the No. 1 spot in the AFC East.

They now have an electrifying clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars on deck in London.

And there will be no better way to keep this momentum going than taking down another dark-horse AFC contender on foreign soil for the entire world to see.
