Offense is one aspect of baseball that is very important.

Obviously, it is the key to winning any game, and some offense must be had in order to do so.

Often times though, we see teams that score a lot of runs and others that don’t.

Typically, those who struggle offensively either rely heavily on their pitching staff or are unable to win many games.

There are three teams in Major League Baseball this season who have struggled notably on the offensive side.

These teams are the Pittsburgh Pirates, Oakland Athletics, and San Diego Padres.

On Twitter, MLB insider Bob Nightengale pointed out that these three teams are the only ones in baseball who have scored two or fewer runs in at least 25 games.

To nobody’s surprise, Oakland has the most such games.

They have scored two or fewer runs in 32 games this season.

As a result, the A’s are 13-50 and have the worst record in all of baseball.

The Padres have some notable stars in their lineup.

Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto, Manny Machado, and Xander Bogaerts are all key pieces of the Padres lineup.

However, they have scored two or fewer runs in 25 games this season.

They also own a record of 28-33 and have lost six of their last 10 games despite being very busy in the offseason.

The Pirates too find themselves on this list.

However, their pitching has been solid.

They own a record of 32-28 and are in sole possession of the third Wild Card spot in the National League.

But like the Padres, they have been held to two or fewer runs 25 times this season.
