Eastern Michigan @ Michigan State
Current Records: Eastern Michigan 1-3; Michigan State 2-1
What to Know
The Eastern Michigan Eagles will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Jack Breslin Student Events Center at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Michigan State Spartans will be strutting in after a victory while the Eagles will be stumbling in from a loss.
EMU was just a bucket short of a win on Thursday and fell 74-73 to the Northern Kentucky Norse.
Meanwhile, everything went MSU’s way against the Butler Bulldogs on Wednesday as they made off with a 73-52 win. The oddsmakers were on MSU’s side, but they didn’t give the team enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Their success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but guard Max Christie led the charge as he had 18 points. Christie’s performance made up for a slower contest against the Western Michigan Broncos last Friday.
EMU is now 1-3 while MSU sits at 2-1. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Eagles are 23rd worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 80 on average. The Spartans’ defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 34.60%, which places them 27th in college basketball.
