Who’s Playing
George Mason @ No. 21 Maryland
Current Records: George Mason 3-0; Maryland 3-0
What to Know
After a three-game homestand, the George Mason Patriots will be on the road. They will square off against the #21 Maryland Terrapins at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Xfinity Center. The Patriots will be seeking to avenge the 86-63 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Nov. 22 of 2019.
GMU took their game at home on Sunday with ease, bagging a 90-53 win over the Morgan State Bears. GMU was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. They got double-digit scores from four players: Josh Oduro (22), D’Shawn Schwartz (17), Davonte Gaines (15), and Devon Cooper (14).
Meanwhile, the Terrapins strolled past the Vermont Catamounts with points to spare this past Saturday, taking the matchup 68-57. Guard Eric Ayala (22 points) and guard Fatts Russell (22 points) were the top scorers for Maryland.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-0. In George Mason’s victory, Josh Oduro had 22 points along with six rebounds and three blocks and Davonte Gaines had 15 points in addition to eight boards. We’ll see if Maryland have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
