Reports over the weekend say that the Arizona Cardinals are calling Kyler Murray quote: ‘self-centered, immature, and someone who points fingers.’ On the other side, a report is said that Murray feels he’s being framed as a scapegoat for their playoff loss to the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. Murray responded quote: ‘All of this nonsense is not what I’m about, never has been, never will be..love me or hate me but I’m going to continue to grow and get better.’ Marcellus Wiley explains why the Cardinals ‘should not be afraid to commit to someone who’s helped their franchise improve every single year.’

On Wednesday, the struggling New York Mets were dealt a tough blow when slugger and first baseman Pete Alonso was hit on the hand with a 97-mph fastball from Atlanta Braves starter Charlie Morton.

Alonso was forced to exit the game as a result.

The slugger is now headed to the injured list.

However, Alonso’s temporary replacement is a familiar face.

On Friday, the Mets called up utility infielder Luis Guillorme from Triple-A.

He will join the team in Pittsburgh on Friday before they kick off a three-game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

SNY, the TV home of the Mets announced the news on Twitter.

Guillorme made his Major League debut in 2018 with the Mets.

The 28-year-old was selected in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

He appeared in 102 games last season with the Mets.

In those games, the 28-year-old utilityman hit for a .273 average with two home runs and 17 RBI.

This season, he hasn’t had the same luck.

His average sits at a disappointing .233 through his first 27 games of the year.

However, he is reaching base at a .324 clip.

Guillorme can also play multiple positions in the infield and could potentially fill in at first base while Alonso recovers.

The Mets could also potentially give Eduardo Escobar some reps at first.

But with Alonso out, the Mets have been forced to get creative with their roster.

Guillorme will look to help provide a spark for a struggling Mets team that has now lost six games in a row.
