Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have been waiting all season for LeBron James to break the biggest record in the history of the NBA.

Tuesday night might be when it happens.

James is just 36 points away from overtaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time points leader in the history of the league.

He has a very good chance of scoring those 36 during Tuesday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in LA.

Crypto.com Arena is already completely sold out for the game, with some people paying thousands of dollars to get a chance to watch history be made.

James is averaging 30 points a night so achieving 36 is possible, although maybe a little unlikely.

However, James knows just how close he is to achieving such a huge feat and maybe that will be the inspiration for him to score what is needed and earn his spot in the history books.

For the last three games, James has scored 27, 26, and 28 points, respectively.

But the three games before that featured two nights when James scored more than 40 points so 36 on Tuesday night is definitely within his reach.

James passing Abdul-Jabbar has been something that people have been anticipating for months, if not years.

It cements his place as truly one of the most influential and important people to ever play in the NBA.

It also comes at a time when his team is once again struggling with a path forward.

Will they make major changes before Thursday’s trade deadline or will they look very similar for the rest of the season?

All of that will be decided within the next few days but Tuesday night (or Thursday if necessary) will be all about James and his historic moment.
