Lazio welcome Juventus to Rome on Saturday with Maurizio Sarri reunited with his former club at Stadio Olimpico as fifth hosts eighth in Serie A. A win could boost the Biancocelesti into the top four while a Bianconeri victory could see Massimiliano Allegri’s men rise to 21 points alongside Lazio. The last time these two met, it finished 3-1 to Juve in Turin.

Storylines

Lazio: Sarri’s men are fifth at present with 21 points from a possible 36. The Laziale won 3-0 last time out against Salernitana but will be missing top scorer Ciro Immobile who leads Serie A for goals with 10. The Roman outfit are unbeaten at home so far this campaign but have generally struggled against Juve of late.

Juve: A 1-0 win over Fiorentina last time out ended a three-game winless streak but 18 points so far is not good enough for the Vecchia Signora. Juve are faring better in this fixture than Lazio with three unbeaten outings since late 2019. Allegri’s men lead 6-3 on goals scored in that time. Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado and Weston McKennie have seven goals between them so far.

Prediction

This one will not be easy for the visitors but Immobile will be a big loss for the hosts. I reckon a draw but a narrow win for either side is a possibility. Pick: Lazio 1-1 Juve.
