LaMelo Ball Proving His Value As A Great Teammate

One of the biggest NBA success stories of the last few seasons has been LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets.

Ball is averaging 20 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists a game – which is a step up from last year when he was putting up 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.

The young point guard has helped lead his team further than it has been in years and has also been well on his way to breaking some huge NBA records.

And now Ball is the second-youngest player in NBA history to reach 700 career assists.

At 20 years and 179 days, Ball is now only behind LeBron James, who passed that milestone at 20 years and 12 days.

What’s next for Ball and his team?

Hornets Still Buzzing?

Charlotte is going through a rough patch right now.

The Hornets have been 1-9 for their last ten games and are struggling to stay in ninth place in the East.

This has happened as the Hornets have lost one of their lead stars, Gordon Hayward, to injury.

So they will need everyone – including Ball – to step it up if they wish to make it into the postseason.

Thankfully, Ball has repeatedly proven that he is ready to go into clutch mode.

The fact that he is putting up so many assists a game shows how much of a team player he is – and how dedicated he is to winning.

Charlotte will have to play incredibly well for the last leg of the season if they want to be in the playoffs.

Ball is definitely having a historic season but it won’t mean much to him if his team fails to even make the postseason.

Mets Call Up A Familiar Face With Pete Alonso Down

On Wednesday, the struggling New York Mets were dealt a tough blow when slugger and first baseman Pete Alonso was hit on the hand with a 97-mph fastball from Atlanta Braves starter Charlie Morton.

Alonso was forced to exit the game as a result.

The slugger is now headed to the injured list.

However, Alonso’s temporary replacement is a familiar face.

On Friday, the Mets called up utility infielder Luis Guillorme from Triple-A.

He will join the team in Pittsburgh on Friday before they kick off a three-game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
