Who’s Playing

North Texas @ No. 4 Kansas

Current Records: North Texas 3-1; Kansas 4-0

What to Know

The #4 Kansas Jayhawks will take on the North Texas Mean Green at 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at HP Field House. After these two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.

The Jayhawks made easy work of the Stony Brook Seawolves last Thursday and carried off an 88-59 victory. Kansas’ guard Ochai Agbaji looked sharp as he had 25 points.

Meanwhile, if there were any doubts why North Texas was a heavy favorite Thursday, the squad quickly laid those doubts to rest. Everything went their way against the Texas-Arlington Mavericks last week as they made off with a 64-36 win.

Kansas is now a perfect 4-0 while North Texas sits at 3-1. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: Kansas enters the game with 87.7 points per game on average, good for 21st best in college basketball. But the Mean Green rank eighth in college basketball when it comes to points allowed per game, with only 52.7 on average. We’ll see which of these strengths — offense or defense — will win out.
