Justin Jefferson Stands Alone In NFL History
Wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been a blessing for the Minnesota Vikings since they drafted him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He was a stellar addition in his first year, breaking Randy Moss‘s franchise record for most receptions by a rookie.
The former LSU standout also established the then-record for most receiving yards by a rookie (1,400), which his former teammate Ja’Marr Chase broke.
But there’s one NFL record wherein Jefferson sits alone.

That tweet by the NFL on CBS shows that the Louisiana native is the only wide receiver in NFL history to have 3,000 receiving yards in their first two seasons.
No one in the NFL’s 102-year history has achieved that feat, even though 5,000-yard seasons look normal for quarterbacks.
Jefferson will definitely add more yards to his collection now that they have an offensive-minded head coach in Kevin O’Connell.
A Superb Start For Jefferson
Even though the Vikings are yet to enter the playoffs during his era, he continues to be a bright spot for the team.
He ended up finishing with 88 receptions and seven touchdowns in his first year.
A year later, he elevated his performance by appearing in all 17 Vikings games.
At the regular season’s end, Jefferson finished fourth in receptions (108), tied for sixth in touchdowns (10), and second behind Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp in receiving yards (1,616).
Those numbers qualified him for the Pro Bowl and the Second-Team All-Pro in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
In his third year, perhaps he can challenge Calvin Johnson‘s record for most receiving yards in a season.
Kupp came close to breaking it, and Jefferson has the talent to claim that record.
More importantly, he wants to finally appear in the postseason after seeing his buddies Chase and Joe Burrow reach Super Bowl LVI.
