What to Know

A win for Arkansas-Pine Bluff just wasn’t in the stars this past Friday as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They suffered a grim 91-71 defeat to the Colorado State Rams. Guard Shawn Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 6-for-13 from downtown and finished with 26 points.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Wyoming at home against the Detroit Titans this past Wednesday as the squad secured an 85-47 win.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 24.50 point spread they are up against. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 2-0 against the spread when expected to lose.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff is now 0-2 while the Cowboys sit at 1-0. A pair of last-season defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Golden Lions have allowed their opponents to shoot 57.40% from the floor on average, which is the 355th highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. On the other hand, Wyoming ranks sixth in college basketball when it comes to points allowed per game, with only 75.5 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.

Mike McDaniel Makes A Clear Statement On Dolphins Not Breaking NFL Record

Published

The Miami Dolphins‘ offense has been one of the most fun units to watch so far during the 2023 NFL season and they managed to outdo themselves with a beatdown of the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

The Dolphins scored 70 points and recorded 726 yards of total offense during the afternoon, showing just how dangerous they can be when everything is clicking on all cylinders.

Miami didn’t have Jaylen Waddle available as he was ruled out with a concussion, but that didn’t stop Tua Tagovailoa and the running backs from carving up the sad Denver defense.

It truly was one of the most exciting performances from a team during the early part of the season and fans could very well never see another 70-point performance again.

The Dolphins actually had a chance to break the NFL’s all-time scoring record by kicking a field goal late in the game, but Mike McDaniels decided to kneel it out instead.

When asked about his decision, McDaniels said that he didn’t mind missing out on the record and that his players agreed with him via Grant Gordon of NFL Media.

“I will be fine getting second-guessed by turning down NFL records. That’s fine. I’m very OK with the decision. And I think the team, notably the leaders of the team, supported it,” McDaniels said.

McDaniels’ decision is a classy act considering he very well could have continued to embarrass the Broncos and really put a damper on their season.

However, it seems that he was content with the win and how well his team played and that should generally be enough for most head coaches.

It’s hard to imagine any defense being able to stop the Dolphins from scoring and they’re definitely looking like a Super Bowl contender.
