Through 3 Quarters

A victory for the Los Angeles Clippers would push them over .500, and after three quarters they have put themselves in a good position to make this happen. They have emerged as the frontrunner and are ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers 89-82.

The Clippers have been led by small forward Paul George, who so far has 19 points and five assists in addition to seven boards. Los Angeles has been relying on the performance of power forward Anthony Davis, who has 19 points along with six rebounds.

What to Know

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Los Angeles Clippers and are hoping to record their first win since July 30 of last year. The Lakers will take on Los Angeles at 10 p.m. ET on Friday at Staples Center after having had a few days off. Los Angeles is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.

Los Angeles made easy work of the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday and carried off a 117-92 victory. The oddsmakers were on Los Angeles’ side, but they didn’t give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Their power forward Anthony Davis did his thing and had 25 points along with seven boards.

Meanwhile, the Clippers came up short against Sacramento on Wednesday, falling 124-115. Los Angeles was down 99-76 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Small forward Terance Mann (19 points), shooting guard Luke Kennard (19 points), and center Ivica Zubac (17 points) were the top scorers for Los Angeles. Ivica Zubac’s performance made up for a slower game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.

The Lakers suffered a grim 118-94 defeat to Los Angeles when the two teams previously met in May. Maybe Los Angeles will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.

Despite finishing the 2022 NFL season with a winning record of 9-8, the Pittsburgh Steelers fell short of the NFL playoffs, which is not something common in the Mike Tomlin era.

Although ultimately, it was a disappointing season, it is time to move on for the storied NFL franchise and look toward what could be a promising future with Kenny Pickett under center and Tomlin still running the show on the sideline.

As part of the Steelers’ effort to bounce back, the team has added an addition to the defense.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Steelers have agreed to a two-year deal with safety Keanu Neal.

The one-time Pro Bowler played the majority of his career with the Atlanta Falcons, who drafted Florida product with the 17th overall pick in 2016.

During the last two seasons, Neal spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being with the Falcons for the first five years of his NFL career.

Neal started eight of 17 games he played for the Buccaneers last year, recording 63 tackles, one interception and four passes defensed.

In 2023, the Steelers will look to get back to form as one of the best teams in the AFC and might have the edge in the AFC North division.

The Cleveland Browns still don’t know what they really have with Deshaun Watson and the Baltimore Ravens appear to be well on their way to losing Lamar Jackson, who wants to get paid or get traded to a team that will pay him.
