Who’s Playing

Vanderbilt @ Auburn

Current Records: Vanderbilt 13-11; Auburn 23-2

What to Know

The Vanderbilt Commodores haven’t won a game against the #2 Auburn Tigers since Jan. 4 of 2017, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Wednesday. The Commodores and Auburn will face off in an SEC battle at 9 p.m. ET at Auburn Arena. Auburn should still be feeling good after a victory, while Vanderbilt will be looking to right the ship.

Vanderbilt came up short against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, falling 73-64. Vanderbilt’s loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of guard Scotty Pippen Jr., who had 23 points and six assists, and forward Myles Stute, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 17 points.

Meanwhile, the Tigers strolled past the Texas A&M Aggies with points to spare on Saturday, taking the matchup 75-58. Auburn’s forward Walker Kessler did his thing and posted a triple-double on 12 points, 12 blocks, and 11 rebounds. Kessler has also now had at least four blocks in his past five games.

The Commodores have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 14 point spread they are up against. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.

Vanderbilt is now 13-11 while the Tigers sit at 23-2. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Vanderbilt has only been able to knock down 41.60% percent of their shots, which is the 51st lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. Auburn’s defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 38.20%, which places them 11th in college basketball. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
