Fantasy Football Week 10 Start ‘Em & Sit ‘Em: Expectant dad Carson Wentz set to deliver against Jaguars

Published

on

Fantasy managers are panicked about Patrick Mahomes. The star quarterback has struggled recently heading into Week 10 at Las Vegas, and we’re getting some crazy questions about other options to start over him.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Calm down. Mahomes will be fine — hopefully.

In his past three games against Tennessee, the Giants and Green Bay, Mahomes has scored seven, 16 and 12 Fantasy points. It’s been rough, but I’m not giving up on him yet. And neither should you.

Opposing defenses have taken away the big plays from Mahomes and forced him to be patient, and he’s averaging just 215.7 passing yards per game in his past three outings with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The good thing is he’s still attempting at least 35 passes per game, and he has a great history against the Raiders, as you would expect.

In his past five meetings with the Raiders, Mahomes is averaging 317.4 passing yards per game with 13 total touchdowns and three interceptions. He scored 33 and 24 Fantasy points in two games against the Raiders last year.

Only three quarterbacks have scored at least 23 Fantasy points against the Raiders this season, but Mahomes will be No. 4. He’ll get back on track this week. And you can start him with confidence — as usual.

Start ‘Em & Sit ‘Em

Carson Wentz is expecting his second child any day now. He said Wednesday that “I could get the call at any time.” But Wentz said “I’m playing” in Sunday’s game against Jacksonville, and he already discussed the situation with his wife.

We hope Wentz gives his new baby a great birthday present with a victory against the Jaguars, and he should help make that happen. I’m counting on Wentz to have a big game against the Jaguars, and he’s our Start of the Week.

Wentz has been a quality Fantasy quarterback of late with six games in a row of at least 20 Fantasy points. He scored at least 24 Fantasy points in three games in a row against San Francisco, Tennessee and the Jets, and he should keep it up against Jacksonville at home.

Now, even though the Jaguars surprised us by holding Josh Allen to nine Fantasy points last week, this defense has still struggled against opposing quarterbacks for most of the season. There have been five quarterbacks to score at least 25 Fantasy points against Jacksonville, including Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater, Tua Tagovailoa and Geno Smith.

Wentz is clearly better than those guys, and he’s playing well heading into Week 10. It should be a big week for Wentz and his family, and we hope everything works out great for him on and off the field.

Cardinals (vs. CAR): We’ll see if things change for the Panthers with P.J. Walker starting in place of the injured Sam Darnold (shoulder), but Carolina’s offense has struggled of late. The Panthers have scored just 28 points as a team in the past three weeks against the Giants, Falcons and Patriots, with seven sacks allowed, one fumble and four interceptions over that span. Meanwhile, the Cardinals defense has 13 sacks in their past four games against Cleveland, Houston, Green Bay and San Francisco, with two interceptions and five fumble recoveries in those outings. Arizona also has allowed 17 points or less in three of those games over that span.

Titans (vs. NO)

Broncos (vs. PHI)

Panthers (at ARI)

Chiefs (at LV): The Chiefs DST was solid in Week 9 against Green Bay. The unit held the Packers to seven points with Jordan Love starting for Aaron Rodgers (illness), and Kansas City got one sack, one interception and a fumble recovery in that game. But the Raiders should provide a tougher test at home, and the Chiefs DST is not a recommended Fantasy option. The Raiders average 24.5 points per game as a team, and Carr has been sacked just three times in the past three games.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City: live stream: Premier League prediction, TV channel, watch online, start time, odds

Published

on

Arsenal’s first home game of the Premier League season will see them welcome Leicester City to the Emirates Stadium with the Gunners bidding to make it two wins from two. Games against Crystal Palace and the Foxes are not among the top flight’s easiest assignments but they are the sort that Mikel Arteta will need to win if his side are to secure a top four finish in 2023; with Tottenham and Chelsea facing off the following day, this game also offers the chance to gain some very early ground on their likely rivals.

Leicester, meanwhile, head to north London looking for their first win of the Premier League season after they let a two goal lead slip against Brentford on Sunday. The future of a host of players will be under the spotlight on Saturday, most notably Youri Tielemans, the subject of interest from Arsenal that has not yet translated into a formal offer. Here is how you can watch the match and what you need to know:

Storylines

Arsenal: After a man of the match performance on his debut, William Saliba is in for another test as he takes the field at the Emirates for the first time, one that has often proven beyond Arsenal center backs. Only Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney have scored more Premier League goals against the Gunners than the 11 Jamie Vardy has registered; the 35 year old has long lurked menacingly on the shoulder of defenders at the Emirates Stadium and will surely look to test whether Saliba has the pace to stick with him.

If Saliba were to struggle then Arsenal could at least have more options at the back anyway with Takehiro Tomiyasu having completed 45 minutes in the Under-23s match against Manchester United on Saturday. Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira, both of whom missed the opening day win over Crystal Palace, returned to first team training this week. However Arteta has confirmed that Reiss Nelson has suffered a significant injury, as first revealed by CBS Sports on Thursday.

Leicester City: Tielemans is not the only Leicester player who is the subject of transfer interest; indeed Brendan Rodgers could be forgiven for simply wishing on the arrival of September 1. James Maddison is the subject of interest from Newcastle whilst by the time Wesley Fofana takes the pitch on Saturday Chelsea might have submitted a third bid for the Frenchman.

“Speculation can affect the whole group if you don’t manage it,” Rodgers said. “The message is to keep your eye on the ball and focus on your football. It’s notoriously that time of the year where is that speculation and gossip around, but it’s something I haven’t seen in the group. They’ve trained to a really good level and the intensity has been really good. Everyone is focused on doing their best in games for Leicester City.”

Prediction

Rodgers himself admits he is facing an Arsenal side that have added “world class” talent… they may be too good for Leicester. PICK: Arsenal 2, Leicester 0
