It’s not easy playing for the Philadelphia Eagles because the fans lash out at the team for even the smallest mistakes.

If they can boo Santa Claus on Christmas, then there’s no stopping them from berating a player who dropped a catch or missed coverage on defense.

But on the other hand, they show appreciation after a great game.

That said, Malcolm Jenkins must have gotten his fair share of boos and cheers from Eagles fans.

However, the pros outweigh the cons because he was the consummate professional in his six seasons with the franchise.

He will forever be loved in the City of Brotherly Love because he helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII.

While the Philly Special is what everyone will remember in eternity, Jenkins had four tackles and a defended pass in that game.

It was also during his time in Philadelphia that he became a three-time Pro Bowler.

More importantly, he never missed a game for the Eagles from 2013 to 2019.

That said, Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie has nothing but appreciation for the 34-year-old defensive back.

Certainly, his sentiments echo that of the entire city.

What Lurie Said About Jenkins

Lurie started his statement by defining Jenkins as a quintessential Philadelphia Eagle because of his professionalism and mental toughness.

He also stressed that he never took a snap off, be it on practice or in-game.

Aside from being a huge contributor during games, Jenkins was also an indelible part of the Philadelphia community by sharing his time and wisdom.

Finally, Lurie wished Jenkins and his family all the best as he enters the next phase of his life.

Because of his countless contributions to the franchise and to the city, he will be a part of Eagles’ Ring of Honor soon.
