The Philadelphia Eagles put on a show from start to finish last season, with quarterback Jalen Hurts going from a player with a lot of question marks to a legitimate superstar that was due for a huge payday.

Hurts took what many thought was going to be a mediocre Eagles team all the way to the Super Bowl while giving the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs all they could handle in the big game.

Even though the Eagles weren’t able to get the best of the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Philadelphia proved that this team could be very good for quite some time, especially with Hurts under center.

As if Hurts’ season wasn’t impressive enough last year, the young quarterback wasn’t even playing close to 100% last season because of a shoulder injury, according to Eagles legend Donovan McNabb via Sports Illustrated and Dov Kleiman.

Hurts being nowhere close to being 100% during his breakout season with the Eagles is impressive, to say the least, as he was as good as any quarterback in the league during the 2023 campaign.

Last season, Hurts threw for a career-high 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while also rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Hurts came in second in the voting for NFL MVP to Patrick Mahomes, but he proved his toughness along with the fact that he’s the right man for the job under center for Philadelphia for the foreseeable future.

Although Hurts hasn’t put up monster numbers so far in the team’s first two games, the Eagles are, without a doubt, one of the best teams in the NFC once again.
