The Los Angeles Rams have reloaded to defend their Super Bowl title.

They might have lost key players like Von Miller, Robert Woods, and Andrew Whitworth but got great signings in return.

Allen Robinson will now line up with Van Jefferson and reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.

Aside from the former Chicago Bears wideout, the Rams also acquired All-Pro defensive ace Bobby Wagner via a five-year, $50 million deal.

After ten seasons and one Super Bowl title, Wagner was surprised to be released by the Seattle Seahawks.

He was still playing at a high pace last season with a career-high 170 tackles.

But Seattle’s loss is Los Angeles’ gain as the Rams add another leader on defense.

More importantly, the 31-year-old linebacker will get to play for his hometown team.

Wagner was born on June 27, 1990 in Los Angeles, California, and went to Colony High School in Ontario, which is less than an hour away from the City of Stars.

He played both ways as a linebacker and tight end for his high school team and 125 tackles, four sacks, and 11 touchdowns in his senior year.

After helping lead the Titans to a California Interscholastic Federation division title, Wagner received Second-Team California Division 2 all-state honors.

A Defense For The Ages

Having Miller last season helped the Rams contain Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

In 2022, Wagner will provide excellent run defense and solid zone coverage.

If everyone on the Rams’ defense stays healthy, they have an opportunity to do something special next season.

While Wagner takes control of the middle areas, Leonard Floyd and Aaron Donald will provide pressure against the quarterback.

Jalen Ramsey will also cover the best receiver.

This elite defensive unit should help the Rams make the playoffs again.

Richard Sherman Shares His Preview For Eagles-49ers

The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in this weekend’s marquee matchup in the NFL.

It will be a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game and hopefully a more competitive game than that one, as 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy exited it early with a torn UCL in his throwing elbow.

San Francisco is currently favored to win that game even though it will be played in Philly, and former star cornerback Richard Sherman, who had a stint with the Niners not too long ago, says he expects the Niners to win, per The Volume.

Sherman’s reasoning is that although the Eagles are an NFL-best 10-1, their wins haven’t come that easily, and their defense is vulnerable.

They rank 19th in total yards given up and 20th in points allowed, and their pass defense ranks near the bottom of the league in multiple categories.

San Francisco has the goods to expose that pass defense with two stud wide receivers in Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk and one of the league’s best tight ends in George Kittle, not to mention quarterback Brock Purdy.

Purdy leads everyone in passer rating, yards per pass attempt, yards per completion, and pass completion percentage while ranking second in QBR.

Sherman also mentioned how the Niners’ defense has gotten even better after their trade for pass rusher Chase Young about a month ago.

Young has 1.5 sacks in three games with them, and the attention he has attracted from opposing offensive lineman has helped unlock Nick Bosa, last season’s Defensive Player of the Year.
