With all the hubbub and rumors surrounding the major trade that led to James Harden on the Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons on the Brooklyn Nets, some people are forgetting just how great the trade was for both sides.

It was particularly amazing for the Nets because Simmons can be one of the best defensive guys in the entire NBA.

The Nets just improved their chances of making it to the Finals in a big, big way.

Simmons is well aware of that.

Speaking with the press, the new Nets player said that this new team and the big three at the center of it all is going to be “scary” and “unreal.”

Is Simmons right and will the Nets really be scaring their opponents in the weeks and months ahead?

Brooklyn’s Comeback?

The Nets are in the midst of a very tricky time right now and are not looking like a team that can make the Finals, let alone the playoffs.

However, that could all change in a few weeks.

That’s because the injured Kevin Durant, who is undeniably the star of the team, is set to come back in the weeks ahead after his injury is properly dealt with.

Additionally, Simmons will soon be suiting up to play with his new team too.

That will give the world its first look at a healthy, full roster that includes Durant, Simmons, and Kyrie Irving (who can still only play in away games because of his COVID-19 vaccination stance).

With those guys, the Nets now have perhaps the best player in all of the NBA and one of the best point guards in history, along with a young big man who has been a defensive powerhouse.

That is indeed a “scary” prospect for the rest of the league.

Marcus Smart Has A Message Ahead Of Game 7

Boston is one of the ultimate sports towns on Earth, and the Boston Celtics have had plenty to do with that.

For decades, they were the undisputed greatest franchise in the league, and not even ceding that much ground to the Los Angeles Lakers has been enough to change that status.

That’s why Celtics guard Marcus Smart knows what’s at stake when they take the floor for Game 7 tonight.

In a recent interview, the former Defensive Player of the Year acknowledged that making history would be huge for this group.

The Celtics could join the 2004 Boston Red Sox as the only two teams in major sports history to come back from a 0-3 series deficit.

NBA teams are 0-149 in that scenario and just three teams before them were able to even force Game 7, although all of them had to play it on the road.

The Celtics have taken a ‘one game at a time’ mindset ahead of tonight’s matchup, warning the Miami Heat not to let them win one game.

Joe Mazzulla has been more confident and sound in this three-game rampage, but the players’ body language, mindset, and energy, have been the biggest difference from the first three matchups.

Now, all eyes will be set on the TD Garden to see whether this team has what it takes to write its name in history books.

Anything can happen tonight, and that’s the beauty of sports.
