Antonio Brown Is Failing To Understand The Obvious

NFL teams aren’t holding back in paying top dollar for elite wide receivers.

After the All-Pro wideout left the Green Bay Packers, the Las Vegas Raiders gave Davante Adams a five-year, $141 million deal.

Seeing that contract made Tyreek Hill raise his demand of being the highest-paid player at the position.

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have that money, which led to his trade to the Miami Dolphins.

Hill then signed a four-year, $120 million deal upon joining the Dolphins.

Antonio Brown must have seen these contracts and thought he could earn that much.

As shared by The Sporting News, Brown shared to TMZ Sports, “I still feel like I can put up big numbers, and I see what these guys are getting paid. I wonder why my value isn’t being upheld as the same.”

Brown doesn’t understand that he’s a tough buy for all NFL teams.

If he feels that he can still put up big numbers, he must owe it to himself to undergo ankle surgery and prove that on the field.

Likewise, no team wants a distraction like he did when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced the New York Jets last season.

Hill and Adams aren’t saintly, but their focus on the field was to compete and not become a distraction to the team.

His Numbers Don’t Stack Up With Elite Receivers

Finally, his 2021 stats are nowhere near what Hill and Adams did.

Hill was able to demand a huge contract because his numbers were closer to Adams.

“Cheetah” finished with 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns, while Adams had 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Brown had 483 and 545 yards in his last two seasons.

It’s hard to prove that you’re at par with the best if your output tells otherwise.

Fans React To Today’s News About Shaquille Leonard

Many NFL fans have been waiting to see where linebacker Shaquille Leonard would sign.

He was released by the Indianapolis Colts a few weeks back and spent the last few weeks looking for a new home.

Two teams that Leonard met with were the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Both could use some linebacker depth and Leonard spent this past weekend deciding where to play.

According to Ian Rapoport, Leonard has decided to join the Eagles on a one-year deal.

After watching the Eagles on Sunday, it is clear they need help at linebacker.

Philadelphia was dominated by the San Francisco 49ers, as the Niners scored 42 points in the game.

San Francisco attacked the Eagles’ linebackers, knowing that was one of their weakest spots on defense.

The Eagles now hope Leonard can give them something that will help fix their issues.

But, Leonard is not much of a difference-maker anymore.

He was once an All-Pro, but that player is long gone.

Still, he provides the Eagles with some depth at one of their weakest positions.

Many people around the league believe this move will do nothing to close the gap between them and the 49ers.

It will be interesting to see if Leonard can have any positive impact on the Eagles’ defense.

It is rare for players who are free agents this late in the season to be difference-makers.

Also, the Colts would have kept him if they thought he could help them win games.

Ultimately, this is a desperate move from a team that needs help at linebacker.

Titans HC Clarifies Derrick Henry’s Status After Injury Scare

During the Tennessee Titans’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Titans All-Pro running back Derrick Henry left the matchup following a brutal hit at the end of a rushing attempt.

It was believed that Henry had sustained a concussion during the play, but apparently, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

On Monday, Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel revealed that the veteran running back is actually not currently in concussion protocol, which means that he should be able to play during the team’s upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins next Monday.

Before he left the matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Henry had already rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, so him having to leave the game definitely had a big impact on the Titans’ offense.

Unfortunately, Tennessee’s 2023 record dropped to 4-8 on Sunday after their 31-28 overtime loss to Indianapolis.

The contest between the two AFC South rivals was a wild one that featured two blocked punts, a pick-two on a two-point conversion, and a walk-off game-winning touchdown in overtime.

With the loss, any hopes that the Titans had of making the playoffs are pretty much out the door.

It’s not like Tennessee had much of a chance to earn a postseason berth before Sunday’s game, but the loss just put them even further down the current AFC standings.

The Titans are likely heading into an offseason that will be full of a bunch of changes, as they are currently on track to miss the playoffs and finish with a losing record for the second year in a row.
