The Chicago Bears enter the 2023 offseason with plenty of work to do with their team.

While the team has the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, they need more than the draft to rebuild their team.

With the team having plenty of cap space for 2023, they can spend on players this upcoming season.

However, they can find some gems in the free agent market for a cheap price.

With the team’s defense getting gutted in 2022, they need someone who can shine on the front line.

While the team has some solid rookies in their secondary, the front seven wasn’t helping pressure the quarterback.

They also had linebackers who weren’t stopping the running game.

If the Bears want to fix these defensive problems, they need a veteran player with proven talent.

One under the radar defensive free agent in 2023 is Anthony Walker Jr.

The Cleveland Browns linebacker was having a promising 2022 season with the team.

His ability to run down the ball carrier makes him a threat to any offense.

He’s also a solid tackler, as he only missed 5.8% of his tackles in 2021.

A guy like him is exactly what the Bears need on defense.

However, a season-ending injury to Walker in 2022 might have him under the radar.

That injury might cause the Browns to allow him to test out the free agency market.

If it does, the Bears need to scoop him up.

His one-year contract for $4.25 million in 2022 with the Browns means he’s a value player.

The Bears won’t have to overspend for him if they pursue him in 2023.
